Science Journalist

I am interested in the philosophical questions of science and technology, and have been known to wax poetic about dead mathematicians and the ennui of light particles from time to time.

I completed my B.A. in English (with double minors in physics and computer science) at Clark University in 2017 and my M.S in Science Journalism at Boston University in 2018.

Since 2018, I have been freelancing for publications like Popular Mechanics, Physics Magazine, Science News Explores, and IEEE Spectrum --- among others. I cover all things technological from emotional robots to the strange world of machine learning and quantum computing as well as physics, space, food, and science history.

I also offer copy editing services to academics working on projects like manuscripts and white papers to provide an experienced eye to help your writing shine.

Copy Editing

I have experience covering breaking news and writing in-depth features on complicated science topics and love to look for the human story behind the science. I cover these types of stories for both traditional journalism outlets as well as universities and institutions.

New for 2023, I am now offering a copy editing service to academics to utilize my experience as a science communicator to help review and offer editing notes on projects like manuscripts, white papers, and grant applications. Please reach out to talk projects and rates.
